The Nexus Grave
A downloadable game for Windows
A short dungeon crawler game for the Dungeon Crawler Jam 2024
The jam had some thematic constraints and I used the contraint "Ancient Ruins" with a hint of "Cosmic Horror".
Warning: Do not pickup items, when already holding an item, as this will overwrite the held item.
You play a group of heroes from the science brigade of Her Highness, the Empress of the Moon Dagger University.
In the realm of Iune, heroes emerge from the science brigade of Her Highness, the Empress of Moon Dagger University.
Throughout history, Iune has confronted numerous perils: dragons, necromancers, and plagues. Yet, nothing compares to the imminent threat looming from the cosmos, a terror veiled in shadows, creeping ever closer from distant stars. Citizens are held in a grip of horror, tormented by grotesque nightmares. Each passing day claims lives, as the populace grapples with the impending doom.
Delving deep into ancient archives, the mystics of the science brigade found a chilling revelation: the forgotten city of a pre-human civilization, the snake-men. These serpent beings once worshipped a deity named Rysa-Da-Kun, who guided them to Iune in ages past. In a hubris-fueled act, they imprisoned their god among them, seeking to tap into his divine power. Over centuries of torment, Rysa-Da-Kun's resentment festered until he ruptured the barriers between realms, unleashing infernal dimensions upon the world. In a desperate bid, the snake-men sacrificed their capital, Ryanaris, entombing both deity and the dimensional rifts beneath a mountain known as the Brabor.
Now, the mystics suggest, that something done there in this nexus grave sends a cosmic signal, a siren call to an entity of ultimate destruction into space.
Can you find the origin of this ominous transmission and prevent Iune's descent into oblivion?
This game uses some ai generated assets for the sprites and textures.
